De Visser Gray LLP, known prior to June 1, 2001 as De Visser & Company, was founded by managing partner Peter de Visser, CA in October, 1987.
The firm was originally located at 201-960 Richards Street, Vancouver, until May, 1999. At that point, the firm relocated to its present
location on 401-955 West Pender Street in Vancouver.
The firm currently has four partners; Peter de Visser, CA, James Gray, CA (who joined the firm in 1997 as a staff CA and became a partner
in 2001), Brad Waddell (who joined as a partner in 2006) and Cameron Dong (who joined as a partner in 2009).
The firm also has an Associate, Ross Nichol, CA, who joined the firm in 1988. Ross has continued to grow his independent practice, consisting
largely of small, privately-held businesses and individuals, to the current day.
We currently have a staff of approximately 12 professional and supporting personnel, including students enrolled in the CA and CGA programs.
The firm has expertise in the provision of assurance and related compliance services for junior public companies, with a specific emphasis on
the junior mining sector. Our public company clients, while generally based in Vancouver, conduct resource property exploration around the
world, but particularly in North, Central and South America. Our downtown location is ideally suited to servicing these clients, with the vast
majority having their offices within a four block radius of our office.
Beyond audit and related specialty services, such as assistance with public offering documents and form 20-F registration statements filed with
the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm also has the ability to efficiently outsource basic bookkeeping, accounting and corporate
tax compliance services where necessary in conformity with our auditor independence rules.
Our size enables us to deliver efficient and affordable services in the increasingly complex and costly regulatory environment facing junior
issuers. Our approach is practical and involves the continual application of professional judgment to reach outcomes, which balance the
requirements of our clients, regulators and third party users of the information on which we report. All partners are actively involved in
client work, and have an informal, "open-door" policy with clients and staff, that encourages efficiency and an emphasis on meeting the needs
of the client.
De Visser Gray LLP also services a substantial base of private companies, non-profit organizations and personal tax and trust (T3) clients.
Our approach here is to integrate and combine corporate and personal tax planning and compliance services such that a small business person
can consider him or herself completely from a tax point of view when they join as a client. Subject to any limitations imposed by our
independence rules, we can also take care of all of the accounting and bookkeeping for a small business client in an efficient and affordable
manner, leaving the entrepreneur free to build the business and focus on what he or she does best.
